When a person dies without leaving a will or leaving an incomplete will, the declaration of legal heirs will establish the list of the deceased's heirs as provided in the Civil Code of Quebec.
This declaration will allow the liquidator to declare the identity of the deceased person, their civil status and their marital regime if applicable, and identify their heirs.
It is used with stakeholders such as banks, credit unions, insurance companies, as well as for claims on assets or other matters.
