The liquidator must publish the notice of closing of the estate inventory with the RDPRM and in a local newspaper, unless they obtain the unanimous consent of all the heirs not to publish this closing.

Three steps must be followed to meet the requirements of the Civil Code of Quebec.

The first, mentioned above, is to publish the notice of closing in the register of personal and movable real rights (RDPRM). This notice identifies the deceased person and the place where the inventory can be consulted by interested parties.

The second step is to publish the notice of closing in a newspaper distributed in the locality of the last address of residence of the deceased person.

The third step is for the liquidator to inform interested parties, including heirs who have not yet exercised their option, specific legatees, and known creditors, of the registration of the notice of closing. The liquidator may then send them a copy of the inventory.
